A ServSafe course for Food Safety Managers will be offered at St. Albert the Great on a Wednesday of each month, from 9am-5pm. Please visit picfoodsafety calendar site for dates. The test will be the same day at the conclusion of the course. If you pass the course, you will receive a certificate that is required for Church food handling, for example potlucks/meals, and for working in many food service establishments. If you do not pass the course, you can retake the test at later time.
Note: It is required by Michigan Law that at least one person who is certified needs to be present at events that have food served.
The cost is $150.00 for non-profits (please contact PIC Food Safety for non-profit pricing), but typically your parish or the committee that sponsors you will pay some or all of the cost. If you cannot make the course on August 24th, you will have more choices, because the course will be offered on a monthly basis at St. Albert the Great Parish.
If you obtain or already have this certificate, you will need to take a 2 hour class on food allergens, cost is $12 for non-profits, that is now required in the state of Michigan for 2017.
